Using the Proxy Checker Personal program will allow you to test various types of proxies, their locations, IP addresses and host names and their speed including response times. Downloading and installing the program is simple and when it is opened it displays a Windows style interface that is easy to navigate. The full version enables a Whois query providing you with further information about the proxies you have listed. Additionally, the full version includes the mailing ability of a proxy and relays the proxy's block list. The program's Options menu allows you to pre-configure settings before you run your tests by selecting Testing. Selecting the SOCKS/HTTP Firewall option allows the program to work through the SOCKS firewall. From the program's List menu, you can Import or Export proxy lists and you can also paste to add proxies directly into the panel on the interface. Once you have completed your settings and added your lists, testing can begin by simply clicking on highlight a single IP address or you can select All from the Mark to Test box. This program tests both SOCKS and HTTP proxy servers. It also conducts a pretest on start up to check the availability of scripts and resolve any host name into the IP address. If you are using a broadband connection, it is essential that you let the program know it by selecting Options and Misc from the menu bar and setting your connection type to LAN, as the program is set initially to dial-up.
